Commissioner Casper requested that the Board <br />schedule the meeting on June 11. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Niblock, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board by resolution changed the first meeting in June <br />from 6:30 P.M. on Monday, June 3, to 6:30 P.M. on Tuesday, June 11, 1996. <br /> <br />Public Health Authority Task Force Report and Recommendations <br /> <br /> Mr. Clifton distributed copies of the Public Health Authority Task Force <br />report and recommendations. A formal presentation will be made to the Board on <br />June 11. <br /> <br />Meetin~ at Stonewall Jackson School <br /> <br /> Mr. Clifton reported that Stonewall Jackson School officials had invited <br />the Board to meet at Stonewall Jackson and tour the facilities. Suggested dates <br />for the visit were May 23, June 6 or June 13. <br /> <br /> The Board by consensus agreed to meet at 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, June 13, <br />at Stonewall Jackson School. <br /> <br />Request by Chairman Barnhart to be Excused from the Meetin~ <br /> <br />Chairman Barnhart requested to be excused from the meeting. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Niblock, seconded by Commissioner Casper and <br />unanimously carried, the Board voted to excuse Chairman Barnhart from the <br />remainder of the meeting. <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart left the meeting at 7:10 P.M. Vice-Chairman Fennel <br />presided in his absence. <br /> <br />Preliminary Presentation of the Proposed 1996-1997 Secondary Road Construction <br />Prosram for Cabarrus County - Mr. J. A. Hou~h~ District Engineer <br /> <br /> Mr. J. A. Hough, District Engineer with the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation, presented the proposed 1996-1997 Secondary Road Construction <br />Program for Cabarrus County. Total funds available for 1996-97 were estimated <br />at $794,525.00. Roads included in the proposed program were as follows: Rural - <br />Fisher Road and Lambert Road; Subdivision - Moss Drive, Mullis Road, Cimarron <br />Circle, Burke Street, Winton Street and Canton Drive. <br /> <br /> Mr. Hough reported that the Crisco Road repair work has begun. Also, as <br />requested by Vice-Chairman Fennel, Mr. Hough agreed to look at needed repairs <br />along Highway 73 near the intersection with Highway 29. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Casper expressed safety concerns regarding a curve north of <br />the Landfill on Irish Potato Road. A school bus stop is located in the curve and <br />there is low visibility for on-coming traffic. Mr. Hough agreed to look at the <br />problem and to make any recommendations that could improve the situation. <br /> <br /> The proposed 1996-97 Secondary Road Construction Program will be formally <br />presented to the Board for approval on May 21 at 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Presentation of the Cable Television Rate Review Findings Summary - Ms. Sandra <br />Albrecht~ Centralina Council of Governments Cable Telecommunications <br /> <br />Administrator <br /> <br /> Ms. Sandra Albrecht, Cable Telecommunications Administrator with the <br />Centralina Council of Governments, presented the cable television rate review <br />findings summary relative to Time Warner Cable Metrolina.
