209 <br /> <br />Commissioner Casper was elected as Chair. <br /> <br />Mr. Clifton called for nominations for Vice-Chairman. <br /> <br />Commissioner Mills nominated Commissioner Carpenter for Vice-Chairman. <br /> <br />Commissioner Niblock nominated Commissioner Barnhart for Vice-Chairman. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Casper made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Mills, that <br />nominations be closed. <br /> <br /> Commissioner Barnhart withdrew his name from nomination. <br />Carpenter was elected Vice-Chair by acclamation. <br /> <br />Commissioner <br /> <br /> Mr. Clifton turned the meeting over to Chairman Casper who presided over <br />the remainder of the meeting. <br /> <br />Approval of Bond for the Resister of Deeds as required by North Carolina General <br />Statute 161-4 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the Public Official Bond in the amount <br />of $50,000.00 for Charles B. Ross, Register of Deeds, pursuant to North Carolina <br />General Statute 161-4. <br /> <br />Adoption of Resular Meeting Schedule <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Mills and <br />unanimously carried, the Board reconfirmed the current regular meeting schedule <br />to meet on the third Monday of each month at 6:30 P.M. with the regular meeting <br />in January to be held on Tuesday, January 21, due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. <br />holiday. <br /> <br />Centralina Council of Governments Meetin~ <br /> <br /> Commissioner Barnhart reported that the Centralina Council of Governments <br />meeting would be held in Cabarrus County in January. He suggested that a report <br />on the Public Health Authority be made at that time. There was general agreement <br />to this proposal. <br /> <br />INFORMAL PUBLIC COMMENTS <br /> <br />Chairman Casper opened the meeting for comments from the audience. <br /> <br /> Mr. David Price, the "School Lunch Menu Man," commented on his efforts to <br />encourage students to stay in school. <br /> <br />Adjournment <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Carpenter <br />and unanimously carried, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
