McVay, Deputy Register of Deeds, for Certification by <br />the Certification Board of the North Carolina Association of Registers of Deeds <br /> <br /> The Board paid special recognition to Ms. Sandra S. McVay, Deputy Register <br />of Deeds, for being certified on August 15, 1995 by the Certification Board of <br />the North Carolina Association of Registers of Deeds in conjunction with the <br />Institute of Government at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. <br /> <br /> Mr. Charles B. "Bill" Ross, Cabarrus County Register of Deeds, announced <br />that all employees in the Register of Deeds Office are now certified. <br /> <br />Proposal to Establish an Informal Awards Program for Cabarrus County Employees <br /> <br /> Chairman Barnhart briefly reviewed his proposal to establish an Informal <br />Awards Program to be used as a management tool for the recognition of employees. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Mills, seconded by Commissioner Fennel and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following proposal establishing the <br />Informal Awards Program for Cabarrus County employees. <br /> <br />Proposal to Establish an Informal Awards Program <br /> for Cabarrus County Employees <br /> <br />Purpose: To establish a private enterprise type of awards' program <br />for Cabarrus County employees similar to those that exist in many <br />businesses today. <br /> <br />An informal program would allow a more timely recognition and <br />re-enforcement of notable employee performances, such as: <br /> <br />Successfully completing a major project; <br />Consistently performing "above and beyond, the call of duty"; <br />Submitting cost saving or efficiency improving ideas; <br />Or other exceptional job-related performances. <br /> <br />Proposed: A two level informal award program. <br /> <br />Department Manager's Performance Recognition Award - Awards <br />could be made at anytime in the amount of $50, $75 or $100. <br />Selection of individuals for such recognition will be done by <br />the department manager, but may be based upon recommendations <br />by other department supervisors and employees. Recommended <br />awards would be reviewed by Area Managers. <br /> <br />County Manager's Award of Excellence This award in the <br />amount of $500, can be given at anytime to any employee for <br />superlative performance. While recommendations would be <br />accepted, the County Manager would make the decision as to <br /> <br /> <br />
