Disease/Purchased Service <br /> <br />Increase Decrease <br /> <br />500.00 <br /> <br />Revised <br />Budget <br /> 500.00 <br /> <br />500.00 4,013.00 <br /> <br />Resolution Requesting the Release of Cabarrus County's Share of State Funds to <br />the Centralina Council of Governments <br /> <br /> The Board reviewed the proposed resolution requesting the release of <br />Cabarrus County's share of State funds to the Centralina Council of Governments. <br />Commissioner Fennel asked if these funds in the amount of $4,808.70 could be <br />released directly to the County's Economic Development Corporation rather than <br />to Centralina. <br /> <br /> Mr. John Day, Budget Officer/Area Manager, explained that it was his <br />understanding that legislation intended for these funds to go directly to the <br />council of governments as lead planning agencies. <br /> <br /> At Mr. Hartsell's request, the Board postponed further consideration of <br />this item until later in the meeting. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br />Resolution Relieving Tax Collector of Charge of Insolvent Taxes <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Mills with <br />Commissioners Fennel, Mills and Niblock and Chairman Barnhart voting for, the <br />Board by resolution relieved the tax collector of the charge of taxes owed by <br />persons on the following insolvent list that are five or more years past due and <br />are uncollectible. These taxes are on personal property and all avenues for <br />collection have been exhausted. <br /> <br />RELIEVING COLLECTOR OF CHARGE OF INSOLVENT TAXES <br /> G.S.105-373 <br /> <br />Relief from Collecting Insolvent--The governing body of any taxing <br />unit may in its discretion, relieve the tax collector of the charge <br />of taxes owed by persons on the insolvent list that are five or more <br />years past due when it appears to the governing body that such taxes <br />are uncollectible. <br /> <br />Ail avenues for collection have been exhausted. <br /> <br /> <br />
