Disease/Purchased Service Increase Decrease 500.00 Revised Budget 500.00 500.00 4,013.00 Resolution Requesting the Release of Cabarrus County's Share of State Funds to the Centralina Council of Governments The Board reviewed the proposed resolution requesting the release of Cabarrus County's share of State funds to the Centralina Council of Governments. Commissioner Fennel asked if these funds in the amount of $4,808.70 could be released directly to the County's Economic Development Corporation rather than to Centralina. Mr. John Day, Budget Officer/Area Manager, explained that it was his understanding that legislation intended for these funds to go directly to the council of governments as lead planning agencies. At Mr. Hartsell's request, the Board postponed further consideration of this item until later in the meeting. NEW BUSINESS Resolution Relieving Tax Collector of Charge of Insolvent Taxes UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Commissioner Mills with Commissioners Fennel, Mills and Niblock and Chairman Barnhart voting for, the Board by resolution relieved the tax collector of the charge of taxes owed by persons on the following insolvent list that are five or more years past due and are uncollectible. These taxes are on personal property and all avenues for collection have been exhausted. RELIEVING COLLECTOR OF CHARGE OF INSOLVENT TAXES G.S.105-373 Relief from Collecting Insolvent--The governing body of any taxing unit may in its discretion, relieve the tax collector of the charge of taxes owed by persons on the insolvent list that are five or more years past due when it appears to the governing body that such taxes are uncollectible. Ail avenues for collection have been exhausted.
