276 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in regular <br />session in the Commissioners' Meeting Room at the Cabarrus County Governmental <br />Center in Concord, North Carolina on Monday, May 17, 1993, at 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Present - Chairman: Carolyn B. Carpenter <br /> Vice-Chairman: Kenneth F. Payne <br /> Commissioners: Jeffrey L. Barnhart <br /> Sue B. Casper <br /> Arne L. Fennel <br /> <br /> Also present were Mr. John V. Witherspoon, County Manager; Mr. Fletcher L. <br />Hartsell, Jr., County Attorney; and Mrs. Frankte F. Bonds, Clerk to the Board. <br /> <br />Chairman Carpenter called the meeting to order .at 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br /> Boy Scout Troop 103 of St. James Catholic Church conducted the Presentation <br />of Colors ceremony. Scouts participating were Mark Wassel, Joshua Ratajc, David <br />D~Emilio, and Chris D'Emilio. <br /> <br /> The invocation was given by Reverend Peter Hale of the Poplar Tent <br />Presbyterian Church. <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter sent condolences to the family of Mr. Charles Creason <br />on his recent death. <br /> <br />Approval of Minutes <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Fennel, seconded by Chairman Carpenter and <br />unanimously carried, the minutes of April 26 and May 3, 1993 were approved as <br />written. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS CONSENT <br /> <br />Road Petitions <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Casper and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the addition of Timberwood Drive and <br />Berkeley Place to the State secondary road system. <br /> <br />Fireworks Permit Request - Charlotte Motor Speedway <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Casper and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the request for fireworks displays at the <br />Charlotte Motor'Speedway on Saturday, May 22, and Sunday, May 30, 1993, in <br />conjunction with Nascar Winston Cup racing events. The supervising contractor <br />for the displays is Fireworks Unlimited of North Carolina. <br /> <br />Budget Amendments - Public Health (2) <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Casper and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following budget amendments. <br /> <br />BUDGET REVISION/AMENDMENT REQUEST <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC HEALTH <br />AMOUNT: $7,921.00 <br />TYPE OF ADJUSTMENT: Supplemental Request <br />PURPOSE OF REQUEST: To allocate one-time FY 92-93 funds received from DEHNR for <br /> Family Planning Program <br /> <br /> Present Approved Revised <br />Account No. Budget Increase Decrease Budget <br /> <br />01-6-58-34-538 $71,842.00 <br />Family Planning Grant <br />58-50-360 $31,861.00 <br />Medical Supplies <br /> <br />$7,921.00 $79,763.00 <br />$7,921.00 $39,782.00 <br /> <br /> <br />
