311 <br /> <br />The Board received the funding request and indicated that it will consider the <br />request during upcoming budget review sessions. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Payne, seconded by Commissioner Casper with <br />Commissioners Payne and Casper and Chairman Carpenter voting for, the Board <br />approved the following Home Care Fee Schedule for the Home Health Agency <br />effective July 1, 1993.' <br /> <br />Nursing <br />Physical Therapy <br />Occupational Therapy <br />Speech Therapy <br />Home Health Aide <br />Medical Social Worker <br /> <br />$85/visit <br />$85/visit <br />$85/visit <br />$85/visit <br />$50/visit <br />$100/visit <br /> <br />Request to Hold Election on September 21, 1993 regarding the Possible Merger of <br />the City of Concord and the Parkwood Sanitary District <br /> <br /> The Board received the following Resolution from the governing boards of <br />the City of Concord and the Parkwood Sanitary District. <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REGARDING THE POSSIBLE <br />MERGER OF THE CITY OF CONCORD AND THE <br /> PARKWOOD SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br /> The Board of Aldermen of the City of Concord and the Board of <br />Commissioners of the Parkwood Sanitary District, having considered <br />the matters set forth herein, to wit <br />1. That the Parkwood Sanitary District is wholly located within <br /> the present boundaries of the City of Concord. <br />2. That the Board of Aldermen of the City of Concord will provide <br /> a grant in the following budget year the sum of $10,000.00 to <br /> the Piedmont Farmers Market, a tax-exempt nonprofit <br /> corporation. <br />3. That the Board of Aldermen of the City of Concord will spend <br /> within two years following any merger of the City of Concord <br /> and the Parkwood Sanitary District an amount in excess of the <br /> existing surplus retained by the Parkwood Sanitary District <br /> for improvements in the water and sewer system lines within <br /> the area which constitutes the Parkwood Sanitary District. <br /> And the Board of Aldermen of the City of Concord and the Board <br />of Commissioners of the Parkwood Sanitary District having determined <br />that it is advisable to call for an election within both the <br />sanitary district and the city to determine if the city and the <br />sanitary district should merge, <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Aldermen of <br />the City of Concord and the Board of Commissioners of the Parkwood <br />Sanitary District hereby agree that it is advisable to call an <br />election within both the sanitary district and the city to determine <br />if the sanitary district and the city should merge, and <br /> FURTHER BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Aldermen of the City <br />of Concord and the Board of Commissioners of the Parkwood Sanitary <br />District hereby request that the Board of Commissioners for Cabarrus <br />County, North Carolina, hold an election on September 21, 1993 on <br />the question of merger, with the Cabarrus County Board of Elections <br />giving due notice as required in N.C.G.S. 163-33(8), and providing <br />ballots for the election in substantially the following form: <br /> FOR merger of the City of Concord and the Parkwood Sanitary <br />District, if a majority of the registered voters in both the <br />Sanitary District and the City vote in favor of the merger, the <br />combined territories to be known as the City of Concord, and to <br />assume all of the obligations of the Sanitary District and to <br />receive from the Sanitary District all the property rights of the <br />District; from and after merger residents of the District would <br />enjoy all of the benefits of the municipality and would assume their <br />proportionate share of the obligations of the City as merged. <br /> AGAINST merger. <br />Adopted this the 13th day of May, 1993. <br /> <br /> <br />
