368 <br /> <br /> The Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus met in special <br />session at the Department of Social Services in Concord, North Carolina, on <br />Monday, August 16, 1993, at 5:00 P.M. to receive the Departmentts 1992-93 Annual <br />Report. <br /> <br />Present - Chairman: . Carolyn B. Carpenter <br /> Vice-Chairman: Kenneth F. Payne <br /> Commissioners: Jeffrey L. Barnhart <br /> Sue B. Casper <br /> Arne L. Fennel <br /> <br /> Also present were Mr. John V. Witherspoon, County Manager, and Mrs. Frankie <br />F. Bonds, Clerk to the Board. <br /> <br /> Members of the Social Services Board present for the meeting included <br />Chairman Susan Fuller and members Marie Green and Wayne Trexler. <br /> <br /> Mr. James F. Cook, Jr., Social Services Director, conducted a tour of the <br />Social Services facility. The group then met in the Conference Room for dinner. <br /> <br /> During dinner, the Social Services Public Relations Committee presented an <br />overview of the Department's 1992-93 Annual Report. Staff members making <br />presentations included the following: Ms. Regina Crowder - New Programs and <br />Program Development; Mr. Rod Duncan Services Division; Ms. Kathy Dobbins <br />Income Maintenance Division; Ms. Jeanne Dixon - Child Support; and Ms. Vickey <br />Page - Administrative Support Division. <br /> <br /> Chairman Carpenter congratulated the Department for receiving an <br />Outstanding County Program Award from the North Carolina Association of County <br />Commissioners. The award for the "Jobs for Dads" program was presented at the <br />Associations's 1993 Annual Conference on August 12-15, 1993. <br /> <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, the meeting was <br />adjourned at 6:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
