522 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM has provided <br />Cabarrus County with assistance to meet its needs by funding: <br /> <br />More than 20,000 feet of sanitary sewer. <br />More than 5,000 feet of water lines. <br />The rehabilitation of some 118 homes. <br />The demolition of some 15 vacant dilapidated structures. <br />The paving of 4 dirt streets; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Congress and the Nation acknowledge the critical value <br />of the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT PROGRAM and the significant <br />projects that rely on its funds for support; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the week of April 20-26, 1992 has been reserved for the <br />recognition and appreciation of the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK <br />GRANT PROGRAM. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, I, Carolyn Carpenter, Chairman of the Board of <br />Commissioners of Cabarrus County, proclaim April 20-26, 1992 <br />COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT GRANT WEEK within Cabarrus County and call <br />upon all the residents of this state to participate in ceremonies <br />and activities celebrating the COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT <br />PROGRAM. <br /> <br />Issued this 20th day of April, 1992. <br /> <br />/s/ Carolyn Carpenter <br />Carolyn Carpenter <br /> <br />Chairman <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Frankie F.
