The Board by consensus referred this request <br />to the Health Board. <br /> Mr. Witherspoon asked if there were any objections to Sheriff Canaday's <br />soliciting bids for the grading of the firing range to be constructed at the <br />Landfill. There are sufficient funds for this work, and the Board by consensus <br />authorized the Sheriff to proceed with this project. <br /> Mr. Hartsell asked for clarification of the Board's wishes regarding <br />legislation concerning the installment purchase authority for schools. The <br />Board by consensus reaffirmed its support of this legislation as included in <br />its Legislative Goals package adopted on May 4, 1992. <br /> <br />REPORTS <br /> <br /> A "Joint Stipulation of Dismissal" was filed on June 5, 1992 dismissing <br />the complaint (Civil No. 4-90CVo00444) by Piedmont Peace Project against the <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners and Mr. James F. Cook, Jr., Social <br />Services Director. <br /> <br />EXECUTIVE SESSION <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to go into executive session to discuss <br />pending litigation and property acquisition. <br /> Commissioner Payne left the executive session at 10:45 P.M. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Chairman Carpenter <br />with Commissioners Barnhart, Hamby and Simmons and Chairman Carpenter voting <br />for, the executive session was adjourned. <br /> No action was reported from the executive session. <br /> There being no further action to come before the Board, Chairman Carpenter <br />adjourned the meeting at 10:55 P.M. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
