4 <br /> <br />Section 18 Grant Agreement between Cabarrus County and the N. C. Department of <br />Transportation <br /> <br /> Mr. Newton reviewed the Section 18 Grant Agreement between the County and <br />the North Carolina Department of Transportation. He reported that the County <br />will receive 12 vans through Section 18 in 1993. <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board authorized the Chairman to execute the <br />Nonurbanized Area Public Transportation Grant Agreement, Work Order 9.9043313, <br />Project No. 93-18-059, between the Department of Transportation and the County <br />for funding in the amount of $263,625.00 under Section 18 of the Federal Transit <br />Act Amendments of 1991. Project funding was as follows: Federal $184,537.00; <br />State - $39,544.00; Local - $39,544.00° <br /> <br />Resolution Relieving Collector of Charge of Insolvent Taxes <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and <br />unanimously carried, the Board moved to relieve the Tax Collector of the charge <br />of taxes which are five or more years past due and are deemed uncollectible in <br />accordance with North Carolina General Statute 105-373. These taxes were as <br />follows. <br /> <br />RELIEVING COLLECTOR OF CHARGE OF INSOLVENT TAXES <br /> G.S.105-373 <br /> <br />Relief from Collecting Insolvents--The governing body of any taxing unit may <br />in its discretion, relieve the tax collector of the charge of taxes owed by <br />persons on the insolvent list that are five or more years past due when it <br />appears to the governing body that such taxes are uncollectible.
