Pleasant <br /> <br />By: <br /> <br />Town Clerk Mayor <br />(Corporate Seal) <br /> <br />ADDITIONS TO AGENDA <br /> <br />Acquisition of Real Estate by the Kannapolis City Board of Education <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Carpenter, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart with <br />Chairman Carpenter and Commissioners Barnhart, Hamby and Payne voting for, the <br />Board added the acquisition of real estate by the Kannapolis City Board of <br />Education to the agenda. <br /> <br /> Motion was made by Commissioner Barnhart and seconded by Chairman Carpenter <br />to authorize the Kannapolis City Board of Education to acquire the property known <br />as 1401 Venus Street, Kannapolis, from Gary Lee and Debra Campbell. The motion <br />was approved with Commissioners Barnhart, Hamby and Payne and Chairman Carpenter <br />voting for. <br /> <br /> The previous motion was amended by Commissioner Barnhart to include the <br />~ authorization for Chairman Carpenter to sign the Resolution relative to the <br /> acquisition of real estate by the Kannapolis City Board of Education. <br /> <br /> UPON AMENDED MOTION of Commissioner Barnhart, seconded by Chairman <br />Carpenter with Commissioners Barnhart, Hamby and Payne and Chairman Carpenter <br />voting for, the Board authorized the Kannapolis City Board of Education to <br />acquire the property known as 1401 Venus Street, Kannapolis, from Gary Lee and <br />Debra Campbell and further authorized Chairman Carpenter to sign the following <br />Resolution relative to the real estate acquisition. <br /> <br />NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br /> THAT WHEREAS, pursuant to G.S. 115C-517, City Boards of Education are <br />authorized to acquire suitable sites for school houses and other school <br />facilities. <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Kannapolis City Board of Education, a body corporate, is <br />given the power to hold school property, real and personal, and to purchase and <br />hold the same within the unit. <br /> <br /> AND WHEREAS, the Kannapolis City Board of Education has unanimously adopted <br />a Resolution to acquire that property adjoining the property of the Kannapolis <br />City Board of Education owned by Gary Lee Campbell and wife, Debra N.
