<br /> Mr. Michael M. Ruffin, County Manager, presented the proposed Fiscal Year
<br />1991-1992 Budget for Cabarrus County.
<br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Barnhart and
<br />unanimously carried, the Board set a public hearing for 7:00 P.M. on Monday,
<br />June 3, 1991, relative to the proposed Fiscal Year 1991-1992 Cabarrus County
<br />Budget.
<br /> The Board agreed to meet at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, May 17, and at 9:00 A.M.
<br />on Saturday, May 18, to review the proposed budget.
<br /> Chairman Simmons announced that there would be a joint meeting between
<br />the Board of Commissioners and Cabarrus County Board of Education on Monday,
<br />June 3, 1991, after the budget public hearing. This joint meeting is to be held
<br />in the auditorium of the Historic Courthouse. Chairman Simmons asked that this
<br />meeting be advertised in the local newspapers.
<br /> Mr. Michael M. Ruffin, County Manager, reminded the Board of the informal
<br />cookout scheduled for 6:30 P.M. on Thursday, May 16, at the home of Mr. Howard
<br />Hurlocker for members of the Board of Commissioners and the Planning and Zoning
<br />Commission.
<br /> Chairman Simmons announced that the Board would resume discussion of the
<br />Five-Year Business Plan for Cabarrus County after the completion of the Fiscal
<br />Year 1991-1992 Annual Budget.
<br /> Chairman Simmons instructed the County Manager to obtain a listing of
<br />mandatory and optional programs provided by the Department of Social Services
<br />and the Health Department.
