314 <br /> <br />the existing auger is constantly in need of repair and recommended the purchase <br />of a new auger directly from the manufacturer, Little Beaver, Inc., of <br />Livingston, Texas. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Simmons, seconded by Chairman Lentz and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the purchase of a new auger for the sign <br />technician at a cost of $945.00 plus $70.00 shipping from Little Beaver, Inc., <br />of Livingston, Texas. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Simmons and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the following Grant Project Ordinance <br />Amendment. <br /> <br /> COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT <br /> GRANT FUND (31) <br />GRANT PROJECT ORDINANCE AMENDMENT <br /> <br /> BE IT ORDAINED that the Grant Project Ordinance adopted on <br />November 20, 1989 for the 1989 Cabarrus County Community Development <br />Project is hereby amended as follows: <br /> <br />Section 3. Ruffin, County Manager, announced that Mr. Michael Downs, <br />Zoning Administrator, would be in charge of the Planning Department during the <br />period of time from the departure of Mr. James F. Owens on February 28 and the <br />employment of a new Planing Director. <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Hamby, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board appointed Mr. James R. Johnson, Kannapolis area <br />representative, and Mr. Michael Fox, Midland area representative, to the <br />Cabarrus County Parks and Recreation Advisory Commission for a term of three <br />years ending December 31, 1992. <br /> The final appointment to represent the Mt. Pleasant area will be made by <br />the Board at a later meeting. <br /> Chairman Lentz announced that Mr. Ralph C. Bonds, member of the Industrial <br />Facilities and Industrial Pollution Control Financing Authority, wished to <br />resign from the Authority due to his inability to attend the meetings.
