406 <br /> <br /> UPON MOTION of Commissioner Melvin, seconded by Commissioner Hamby and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the following reductions from the Animal <br />Control budget: Remove the two amber lights from Account 301 as the two <br />requested new trucks have been eliminated; delete funding from Account 301 for <br />tranquilizer gun; delete funding for tranquilizer training class; and eliminate <br />one telephone from Account 420. <br /> UPON MOTION of Chairman Lentz, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board removed the two recommended Animal Control Animal <br />Rescue Ambulance Units from Account 860, Equipment and Furniture, from the <br />proposed Animal Control Budget. <br /> · UPON MOTION of Commissioner Simmons, seconded by Commissioner Moss and <br />unanimously carried, the Board agreed to allocate approximately $160,000.00 in <br />excess funds generated by the $4.60 per cubic yard tipping fee and any funds <br />remaining in the recycling budget in June 1991 to a capital reserve fund for <br />landfill-related improvements. The tipping fee revenue will provide funding <br />for the Landfill and Recycling Program which including a curbside recyclable <br />program for 10,000 homes, a recycling processing operator, increased fuel costs, <br />and the purchase of recycling bins. <br /> The motion by Commissioner Simmons to increase the current expense funding <br />to the schools by $400,000.00 died for lack of a second. <br /> The Board discussed the adoption of the tax rate at 63 cents; however, <br />action on the tax rate was delayed until the next meeting. <br /> Commissioner Simmons advised the Board that he would not be at the meeting <br />on June 18. He also informed the Board that he would be unable to vote on the <br />Public Health Budget due to his employment with Lederle Laboratories. <br /> There being no further business to come before the Board, Chairman Lentz <br />recessed the meeting until 4:00 P.M on Monday, June 18, 1990. <br /> <br />Clerk to the Board <br /> <br /> <br />
