MEMORANDUM <br />Human Resources Department <br />To: Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />From: Ashley Allen, HR Analyst <br />CC: Lundee Covington, HR Director <br />Bob Bushey, Transportation Manager <br />Date: December 22, 2017 <br />Subject: Cabarrus County Drug Free Workplace Policy Updates <br />The Department of Transportation notified Cabarrus County in December 2017 of changes that <br />needed to be made immediately to our Drug Free Workplace policy effective January 1, 2018. 1 <br />have made the required edits and summarized them for you here. <br />Changes include: <br />• Definition added for the Department of Transportation (DOT) <br />• Definition added for Evidentiary Breath Testing Device (EBT) <br />• All references to the term "opiates" have been changed to "opioids" <br />• Definition updated for Substance Abuse Professional (SAP) <br />• Update to Alcohol Testing Procedure on pg. 16 <br />Additionally, all DOT covered employees were asked to sign an Addendum to the policy by <br />January 1, 2018 as requested by the Department of Transportation. <br />AWachmenl number 2 \n <br />F-5 Page 79 <br />
