Christie Reale
Kannapolis Branch Manager
Cabarrus County Public Library
850 Mountain St.
Kannapolis, NC 28081
Emery Ortiz
Library Director
Cabarrus County Public Library
27 Union St. N
Concord, NC 28025
Dear Emery Ortiz
I am writing to recommend Geraldine Depken as the Kannapolis representative on the
Cabarrus County Public Library Board of Trustees. Ms. Depken is an enthusiastic library patron. She
is a regular visitor to the Kannapolis and Concord branches and is passionate about the Cabarrus
County Public Library system and the community. She has attended several programs at both
libraries, including the "Pushing the Limits" book discussion at Kannapolls, where she eagerly
engaged in our discussions sharing her own experiences and ideas.
Ms. Depken would make a wonderful Library Trustee representing Kannapolis. Though she is
new to the area, she has already taken an active role in the community at large, becoming involved
with the Kannapolis History Associates and the Kannapolis Downtown Revitalization project. She
has spent a great deal of time getting to know the people of Kannapolis and their needs.
Ms. Depken has experience serving on advisory boards and would be an asset to the Board
of Library Trustees. She is passionate about her community and its resources, and would work hard
to serve the Cabarrus County Public Library and its patrons.
Sincerely,
E
Christie Reale
Alizchmenl number 1 \n
H-4 Page 226
