CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />FEBRUARY 19, 2018 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Emergency Medical Services - 2017 Service Award Recognitions <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Cabarrus County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) is recognizing two <br />employees for their service excellence in 2017. They will be recognized at <br />the March 2018 EMS Divisional Meetings. Annually, Cabarrus County <br />EMS recognizes top performing full-time and part-time staff through a <br />system of peer nomination and leadership team approval. <br />The Star of Life Award is presented to a part-time team member who <br />demonstrates great commitment to the service in the areas of system <br />involvement, work hours and professionalism. The EMS Service Award is <br />presented to a top performing full-time team member whose efforts have <br />served to advance the level of care, system reputation and community <br />awareness. <br />The 2017 Star of Life Award recipient is Dale Chandler. He has been <br />employed with Cabarrus County EMS since August 1, 2016 in the <br />capacity of part-time Paramedic, and has worked well over the required <br />hours in the past year. Mr. Chandler dedicates a great deal of time to <br />Cabarrus EMS while working full-time for another agency. He always has <br />a positive attitude and seeks out opportunities to help new hires and <br />students. Mr. Chandler creates a level of comfort and help for those new <br />to the profession. He leads by example and is always ready to learn <br />something new. Mr. Chandler is currently credentialed as a North <br />Carolina Paramedic. <br />The 2017 EMS Service Award is presented to Christy Coley. She has <br />C-1 Page 39 <br />
