CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />New Business <br />APRIL 16, 2018 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />SUBJECT: <br />Library - Presentation of Grant Application <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />Library Director Emery Ortiz has applied for a Library Services and <br />Technology Act (LSTA) Grant for $30,905. The grant, entitled "CCPL: <br />Plan and Grown Together," would provide funding to hire a consultant to <br />facilitate strategic planning, and facilities assessment for the Cabarrus <br />County Public Library system. The end result would be a long-range <br />strategic plan that accounts for the area growth impacting the libraries. <br />If awarded, Cabarrus County would be required to match the grant with <br />$6,181. Award announcements are anticipated for May 2018, and the <br />grant funds would be available for FY19 upon acceptance and approval <br />by the Board of Commissioners.
