CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Consent Agenda <br />JUNE 18, 2018 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />SUBJECT: <br />Finance - Kannapolis City School Paving Request <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The FY19 Capital Improvement Projects include a $1,000,000 request <br />from Kannapolis City Schools for paving at A L Brown High School. The <br />Capital Reserve Fund has $1,005,086 in unused contingency from the <br />completed Mt. Pleasant Middle School Project. Management has <br />discussed the possibility of using $500,000 of this balance to help fund 1/2 <br />of the paving request at A L Brown High School and the remaining <br />$505,086 for a future Cabarrus County School project need. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to approve the use of $500,000 in Capital Reserve Funds for 1/2 of <br />the paving request at A L Brown High School and to approve the <br />associated Budget Amendment and Project Ordinances. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Susan Fearrington, Finance Director <br />BUDGET AMENDMENT REQUIRED: <br />Yes <br />COUNTY MANAGER'S RECOMMENDATIONS/COMMENTS: <br />F-9 Page 385 <br />
