CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />JUNE 18, 2018 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments and Removals - Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />At the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council's (JCPC) May 16th meeting, the <br />Council voted to recommend Megan Baumgardner and Michelle Wilson be <br />reappointed to their positions on the JCPC. A letter in that regard is included <br />in the agenda. Ms. Baumgardner has served on this Council since 2010 and <br />also serves on the Active Living and Parks Commission. Ms. Wilson has <br />served on this Council since 2009. Anexception to the "service on multiple <br />boards" and "length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be <br />needed for Ms. Baumgardner and an exception to the "length of service" <br />provision will be needed for Ms. Wilson. <br />In addition, Jessica Herrera (Student under 18) graduated from high school <br />and is no longer eligible to fill that position. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to reappoint two individuals to the Juvenile Crime Prevention <br />Council for two-year terms ending June 30, 2020; including an exceptionto <br />the "service on multiple boards" and "length of service" provisions of the <br />Appointment Policy as needed. <br />Motion to remove Jessica Herrera from the Juvenile Crime Prevention Council <br />roster and thank her for her service. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />2 Minutes <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Angela Poplin, Interim Clerk to the Board <br />H-9 <br />Page 541 <br />
