CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 18, 2018 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments and Removals - Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County has three members <br />whose appointment terms end June 30, 2018. Tom Kincaid and James T. <br />Mack, Jr. have agreed to serve another term if reappointed. Darise <br />Caldwell does not wish to serve another term. If reappointed, an exception <br />to the 'length of service" provision of the Appointment Policy will be <br />needed for Mr. Kincaid and Mr. Mack. Letters of recommendation are <br />included in the agenda in this regard. <br />Mark Spitzer, President of Castle and Cooke, LLC, has expressed a keen <br />interest in assuming the vacant Public Member seat on this Board. A letter <br />of recommendation in this regard is also included in the Agenda. Mr. <br />Spitzer is a resident of Rowan County. An exception to the 'residency" <br />provision of the Appointment Policy will be needed for him. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to remove Darise Caldwell from the Public Health Authority of <br />Cabarrus County roster and thank her for her service. <br />Motion to reappoint two individuals to the Public Health Authority of <br />Cabarrus County (Public Member) for three-year terms ending June 30, <br />2021; including an exception to the 'length of service" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy as needed. <br />Motion to appoint an individual to the Public Health Authority of Cabarrus <br />County (Public Member) for a three-year term ending June 30, 2021; <br />H-10 Page 549 <br />
