CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />JUNE 18, 2018 <br />6:30 P.M. <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Appointments to Boards and Committees <br />SUBJECT: <br />Appointments and Removals - Transportation Advisory Board <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The terms of appointment for the following members on the Transportation <br />Advisory Board expire June 30, 2018: Larry Bonds (Citizen <br />Advocate/Retired), Art Whittaker (County Schools), Mitchell Burris (Law <br />Enforcement), Aurora Swain (Hispanic Community), Anthony Hodges <br />(Human Services Aging), Skip Kraft (Vocational/Sheltered Workshops), Ann <br />Benfield (Head Start), Delton Russell (NC Mental Health) and Sharon <br />Corpening (Social Work [Blind]). All, with the exception of Delton Russellare <br />willing to serve another term. <br />Mr. Whittaker resides in Stanly County, and Ms. Corpening and Mr. Kraft <br />reside in Rowan County. An exception to the "residency" provision of the <br />Appointment Policy will be needed for them. Mr. Hodges also serves on the <br />Home and Community Care Block Grant Committee. An exception to the <br />"service on multiple boards" provision of the Appointment Policy will be <br />needed for him. <br />Leigh Glass (Cabarrus Health Alliance/Healthy Cabarrus) has resignedfrom <br />her position on the Transportation Advisory Board. <br />An application has been received from Megan Shuping. She is employed by <br />the Cabarrus Health Alliance and is eligible to fill the vacant CabarrusHealth <br />Alliance/Healthy Cabarrus position. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Motion to reappoint eight individuals to the Transportation Advisory Board <br />H-11 Page 556 <br />
