C.A. <br />CABARRUS COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERt,REGULAR MEETINGOctober 15, 20186:30 PM <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />BOC - Recognition of Employee Aid During Hurricane Florence and Aftermath <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />During Hurricane Florence and the days that followed, Cabarrus County employees <br />responded to aid affected counties and support disaster recovery efforts. These employees <br />sacrificed time away from family to work long hours in support of disaster recovery efforts <br />throughout the State. In addition to behind the scenes coordination from Cabarrus County <br />Emergency Management, the following departments and employees responded to help other <br />counties in need: <br />• From Emergency Medical Services: <br />Master Paramedic Phil King and Master Paramedic Todd Helms. They were part of an <br />Ambulance Strike team to provide EMS service to Bladen County. <br />• From the Building Inspections Department: <br />Mike Caudle, Codes Facilitator / Lead Inspector was in Brunswick County from Calabash <br />north to Leland. He also worked in Duplin County in Kenansville. Tim Gray Lead Mechanical <br />and Electrical Codes Enforcement Officerworked in Jacksonville, NC. <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />Recognize employees and commend them for their hard work and service. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />SUBMITTED BY: <br />Mike Downs, County Manager <br />Page 71 <br />
