CABARRUS COUNTY DEVELOPMENT ORDINANCE CHAPTER 16 -FLOOD DAMAGE PREVENTION Flood Prone Area see Floodplain Flood Zone means a geographical area shown on a Flood Hazard Boundary Map or Flood Insurance Rate Map that reflects the severity or type of flooding in the area. Floodplain means any land area susceptible to being inundated by water from any source. Floodplain Administrator is the individual appointed to administer and enforce the floodplain management regulations. Floodplain Development Permit means any type of permit that is required in conformance wit provisions of this ordinance, prior to the commencement of any development activity.
