C.-6. <br />CABARR1S CO11iATT <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />REGULAR MEETING <br />=q�'HCAA��NA'r <br />•� October i <br />6:30 PM <br />AGENDA CATEGORY: <br />Recognitions and Presentations <br />SUBJECT: <br />Communications and Outreach, Cabarrus County TV, Channel 22 - NATOA Communications <br />Awards <br />BRIEF SUMMARY: <br />The National Association of Telecommunications Officers and Advisors (NATOA) honored <br />the winners of the 33rd Annual Government Programming Awards (GPA) August 30, 2018 at <br />the Loews Philadelphia Hotel in Philadelphia, PA. The awards program honors excellence in <br />broadcast, cable, multimedia and electronic programming produced by local government <br />agencies. This year NATOA received more than 880 entries submitted by local governments <br />across the country. Entries in the categories cover a variety of programming including, among <br />others, community events, documentary, public affairs and public service, interview/talk show, <br />performing arts, sports, election coverage and children's issues. <br />The Cabarrus County Communications & Outreach's Cabarrus County TV Channel (CabCo <br />TV, Channel 22) won three national awards and one honorable mention for its television <br />programming. The awards were in the categories of Promotion of a City/County "Cabarrus <br />County Branding Video," Municipal Channel Promotion "CabCo TV Promo" and Public <br />Service Announcement "The Opioid Crisis" The Honorable Mention was for the television <br />program "Out & About." <br />REQUESTED ACTION: <br />No action required. <br />EXPECTED LENGTH OF PRESENTATION: <br />5 Minutes <br />Page 78 <br />
