(F-9) Library - Policy Updates
Updates have been made to the Library system's Collection Development
Policy, Meeting Room Policy, and Rules and Regulations for Conduct in the
Library. All were approved by the Library Board of Trustees on November 16,
2017.
UPON MOTION by Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and
unanimously carried, the Board approved the policy revisions.
(F-10) Planning and Development - Soil and Water Conservation District Board
- Contract for Farmland Preservation Grant
The Soil and Water Conservation District Board has applied for and
received funding from a state Farmland Preservation Grant to purchase
development rights for a permanent agricultural conservation easement
on Michael Barrier Farm. Attached is the grant contract for approval and
execution.
Farmland Preservation supports goals of both the Board of Commissioners,
and the Soil and Water Conservation District Board by improving the quality of
life for county citizens. Permanently protecting farmland ensures the land base
necessary for the county's agricultural economy, while simultaneously keeping
the tax burden low by maximizing the amount of land acreage where the cost of
county services is lowest. The Soil and Water Conservation District Board has
previously applied for and received grant funding to preserve a total of 307
acres of farmland.
UPON MOTION by Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and
unanimously carried, the Board accepted the grant award, and approval to execute
any necessary documentation and contracts as well as adopted the associated
budget amendment.
