Morris, Chairman <br />Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />ATTEST: <br />/s/ Terri Lea Hugie <br />Terri Lea Hugie, Clerk to the Board <br />(D) INFORMAL CCMMENTS <br />Chairman Morris opened the meeting for Informal Public Comments at 6:56 <br />p.m. He stated each speaker would be limited to three minutes. <br />Chuck Collier, 524 Windsor Place in Concord spoke regarding racial <br />reconciliation. He provided information for a community training session <br />presented by pastors of six local churches. <br />Caleb Sanderlin, resident of Kings Mountain spoke regarding safety issues <br />for workers in the bridge construction industry. He provided handouts to the <br />Board. <br />With there being no one else to address the Board, Chairman Morris closed <br />that portion of the meeting. <br />(E) OLD BUSINESS <br />None. <br />(F) CONSENT <br />(F-1) Active Living and Parks - 2017 Fees and Chargee Policy <br />Each year, the Active Living and Parks Department reviews the Fees and <br />Charges Policy, presents it to the Active Living and Parks Commission and Senior <br />Centers Advisory Council, and recommends changes to the Board of Commissioners. <br />The documents previously provided at the December 4, 2017 Work Session <br />reflected the proposed changes to the Fees and Charges Policy and a summary of <br />the requested changes. These items are addressed during this time of year so <br />that they can be in place in January and for the entire calendar year. A fiscal <br />year approval would split some of the sports and activity sessions. <br />The Cabarrus County Active Living and Parks Commission and the Cabarrus <br />County Senior Centers Advisory Council unanimously approved the proposed <br />changes. <br />UPON MOTION by Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the Active Living and Parks 2017 Fees <br />and Charges Policy. <br />(F-2) Board of Commissioners - Commissioner Appointments for 2018 <br />The following chart outlines commissioner appointments to various boards <br />and committees and appointments as liaisons to the surrounding municipalities <br />for 2D18. <br />UPON MOTION by Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the commissioner appointments for 2018 <br />as set forth in the agenda. <br />NAME OF BOARD <br />2018 APPOINTMENTS <br />ACT Work Ready CosaarnIty Committee <br />Poole <br />Active Living and Parks Cowniasion <br />Shue <br />Cabarrus County Animal Protection Advisory Board <br />Niger <br />Cabarrus County Board of Education - Business Mtg. <br />Kiger/Honeycutt <br />Cabarrus C..nty Hoard of Education - Work Session <br />Hone cutt/Ki er <br />Cabarrus County Partnership for Children (Smart Start) <br />Morris <br />Cabarrus Planning and Zoning Cozaussion <br />Ki er/Shue <br />Cabarrus-Rowan Urban Area MPO Transportation Adv.
