Samantha Grass, Recruitment Project Manager, LeeAnn Nixon, Existing <br />Industry Project Manager, and Josh Fernandez, Research and Marketing <br />Coordinator, were also in attendance. <br />Cabarrus Arta Council - Presentation of the FY 2019 Budget Request <br />Noelle Rhodes Scott, Cabarrus Arts Council, President and Chief Executive <br />Officer (CEO), presented a PowerPoint presentation titled "Energizing our <br />Community Through Arts Excellence." Topics included: <br />• Nonprofit arts in Cabarrus County Generate $6.9 Million in Economic <br />Activity <br />• Early Childhood Foundation of Cabarrus County <br />• Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County's Interlude Music <br />Program <br />• Multi -Cultural Student Onion <br />• North Carolina Music Hall of Fame <br />• Old Courthouse Theatre <br />• Piedmont Choral Society <br />• Southern Piedmont Wood turners <br />• School Artist Residencies <br />• Cabarrus Arts Council's Total Investment <br />A brief discussion ensued. Keith Gehl and Ruth Brooks, members of the <br />Cabarrus Arts Council Board of Directors, were also in attendance. <br />Break <br />The Board took a short break at 6:25 p.m. The meeting resumed at 6:44 <br />p.m. <br />Carolina Farm Stewardship/Lomax Farm - Presentation of BY 2019 Budget Request <br />Karen MCSwain, Carolina Farm Stewardship Association (CFSA), Farms <br />Services Director, presented a PowerPoint presentation of 2017 activity at the <br />Lomax Incubator Farm. The report included the following items along with a video <br />of the Lomax Farm as part of the Carolinas Organic Project. <br />• Farmers in Training <br />• Programs <br />• Expanded Infrastructure <br />• Expanded Education <br />• Diversified Funds <br />• Publicity <br />• Expanded Outreach <br />A discussion ensued. During discussion, Ms. McSwain, Aaron Newton, Lomax <br />Farm Manager, Jonathan Marshall, Deputy County Manager, and Mike Downs, County <br />Manager, responded to questions from the Board. Mary Beth Miller, Lomax Farm <br />Coordinator, was also in attendance. <br />Cabarrus Health Alliance - Presentation of FY 2019 Budget Request <br />James Mack, Public Health Authority of Cabarrus County, Chairman, provided <br />opening comments. <br />Dr. William Pilkington, Cabarrus Health Alliance, Chief Operating <br />Officer, presented a PowerPoint presentation that included the following <br />information. <br />• 2016-2019 Budget Request <br />
