June 18, 2018 (Regular Meeting) Page 3606 <br />on June 30, 2018 shall be authorized as part of the Budget Appropriation by <br />adoption of this Budget Ordinance. <br />Adopted this 18th day of June, 2018. <br />/s/ Stephen M. Morris, Chairman <br />/s/ Angela Poplin <br />Angela Poplin, Interim Clerk to the Board <br />Chairman Morris reviewed the Cabarrus County Ordinance for the Fire <br />Distract Tax Fund for FY 19. He stated changes are being requested for six of <br />the fire departments rates. He further stated each change will be voted on <br />separately. <br />Allen Volunteer Fire Department <br />Chairman Morris MOVED to approve a fire district tax increase for FY19 <br />from $.055 to $.075 for the Allen Volunteer Fire Department. Vice Chairman <br />Honeycutt seconded the motion. <br />Commissioner Shue expressed opposition to the proposed increase <br />The MOTION carried with Chairman Morris, Vice Chairman Honeycutt, and <br />Commissioners Kiger and Poole voting for, and Commissioner Shue voting against. <br />Rimer Volunteer Fire Department <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved a fire district tax increase for FY19 <br />from $.068 to $.088 for the Rimer Volunteer Fire Department. <br />Harrisburg Volunteer Fire Department <br />Commissioner Shue MOVED to approve a Fire District Tax increase for FY19 <br />from $.1315 to $.15 for the Harrisburg Volunteer Fire Department. Vice Chairman <br />Honeycutt seconded the motion. <br />Following a brief discussion, the MOTION unanimously carried <br />Kannapolis Fire Department - Rural District <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved a Fire District Tax increase for FY19 <br />from $.08 to $.10 for the Kannapolis Fire Department - Rural District. <br />Concord Fire Department - Rural District <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved a Fire District Tax increase for FY19 <br />from $.10 to $.19 for the Concord Fire Department - Rural District. <br />Concord Fire Department - Jackson Park District <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Vice Chairman Honeycutt and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved a Fire District Tax increase for FY19 <br />from $.10 to $.19 for the Concord Fire Department - Jackson Park District. <br />Cabarrus County Budget Ordinance for the Fire District Tax Fund for FY19 <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Honeycutt, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the Cabarrus County Budget Ordinance for <br />the Fire District Tax Fund for FY 19. <br />Ordinance No. 2018-28 <br />CABARRUS COUNTY BUDGET ORDINANCE <br />FIRE TAX DISTRICTS FUND <br />FISCAL YEAR 2018-2019 <br />BE IT ORDAINED by the Board of Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North <br />Carolina: <br />Section I. <br />
