General Statute 158-7.1, the <br />County must conduct a separate public hearing for economic development <br />appropriations. A funding plan is approved during the public hearing when each <br />new economic incentive is approved, and now one is required for the County's <br />annual appropriation for the contribution to the Cabarrus Economic Development <br />Corporation. <br />To ensure compliance with the N.C. General Statute 158-7.1, the County <br />Manager's Office requests a public hearing for the FY 19 economic development <br />appropriation to the Cabarrus Economic Development Corporation. <br />Chairman Morris opened the public hearing at 7:29 p.m. The public hearing <br />notice was posted on the County's website (www.cabarruscounty.us) on June 5, <br />2018 in accordance with Article 2, Administration, Section 2.1 (Use of <br />Electronic Means to Provide Public Notices) of the Cabarrus County Code of <br />Ordinances. <br />There was no one present to address the Board; therefore, Chairman Morris <br />closed the public hearing. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Shue, seconded by Commissioner Kiger and <br />unanimously carried, the Board approved the FY19 Economic Development <br />Allocation. <br />(G-3) EMS - Renewal of Non -Emergency Transport Franchise Agreement with <br />American Transmed - Hearing 6:30 p.m. - First Reading <br />In accordance of NCGS §153A-250, Jimmy Lentz, EMS Director, read the first <br />reading of the Franchise Ordinance of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />Granting a Franchise to Operate Non -Emergency Ambulance Service to American <br />Transmed. <br />Chairman Morris opened the public hearing at 7:33 p.m. The public hearing <br />notice was posted on the County's website (www.cabarruscounty.us) on June 5, <br />2018 in accordance with Article 2, Administration, Section 2.1 (Use of <br />Electronic Means to Provide Public Notices) of the Cabarrus County Code of <br />Ordinances. <br />There was no one present to address the Board; therefore, Chairman Morris <br />closed the public hearing. <br />UPON MOTION of Commissioner Kiger, seconded by Commissioner Shue and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the first reading of the Franchise <br />Ordinance of the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners Granting a Franchise to <br />Operate Non -Emergency Ambulance Service to American Transmed. <br />Ordinance No. 2018-29 <br />First Reading <br />FRANCHISE ORDINANCE OF THE CABARRUS <br />
