MEETING MINUTES <br />RRRWWTP EXPANSION PUBLIC MEETING <br />NOVEMBER 17, 2021 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The Water and Sewinvited the adjacent property <br />Public Meeting at the RRRWWTP on November 17, 2021 at 6:00 P.M. <br /> <br />Adjacent Property Owners Present: WSACC Staff Present: <br /> <br />Tadd Allred Thomas Hahn <br />Lori Allred Chad VonCannon <br />Charley Smith Mark Fowler <br />Mitzi Smith Robin Moore <br />Scott Craig Thomas Jakubisin <br />Suzan Craig Tammy Garifo <br />Tyler Craig <br />James Grady Cook <br />Project Engineer Present: <br /> <br /> <br />George Anipsitakis, Brown & Caldwell <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />The purpose of the public meeting was to provide information to the property owners adjacent to <br />the RRRWWTP about the RRRWWTP expansion. A map of the existing RRRWWTP facilities, <br />proposed facilities as part of the expansion, and the buffer surrounding the RRRWWTP was <br />available for the property owners to view. Thomas said with the anticipated growth within the <br />service area and due to <br />Environmental Quality, WSACC needs to build additional facilities to expand the RRRWWTP. <br /> <br />Thomas spoke about the upgrades and described the equipment to be installed for the expansion <br />of the RRRWWTP. He said Phase 3 of the project will expand the RRRWWTP to a permitted <br />capacity of 30 million gallons per day (MGD) and Phase 4 will expand the RRRWWTP to a <br />permitted capacity of 34 MGD. <br /> <br />Questions and Comments from the Property Owners <br /> <br />Explain how utility service extensions are managed around the Simplicity Road area? <br /> <br />Chad VonCannon informed the property owners that WSACC <br />provides wholesale service to five (5) member jurisdictions, the City of Concord, City of <br />Kannapolis, Town of Harrisburg, Town of Mt. Pleasant, and Charlotte Water. Utility extensions <br />for the Simplicity Road area would be managed by the City of Concord. <br /> <br />What is the timeframe for the completion of the RRRWWTP expansion? <br /> <br />The RRRWWTP expansion will be constructed in two phases. The goal is for WSACC to begin <br />construction of Phase 3 to expand the RRRWWTP to 30 MGD in 2022, with a goal to then <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
