<br />Planning and Development <br />Memo <br />To: Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners <br />From: Susie Morris, Planning and Zoning Manager <br />CC: File <br />Date: 1/12/2022 <br />Re: Request to Change the Name of Merrivee Drive to Miller Park Drive <br /> The Applicant, Ms. Trena Miller, is requesting that Merrivee Drive, located in the Monterosa <br />Subdivision off Lower Rocky River Road, be renamed to Miller Park Drive. <br /> The current street is approximately 898 feet and runs between Monterosa Road and Blossom <br />Drive. <br /> The Applicant is requesting to rename the street because she owns multiple properties taking <br />access directly from the street right-of-way. The parcel where her home is located and two <br />other parcels that she owns are the only properties currently addressed using Merrivee Drive. <br /> Pursuant to the Resolution adopted by the Cabarrus County Board of Commissioners on <br />March 12, 1979, the Applicant provided a Street Renaming Petition showing that over 51% of <br />the adjacent property owners are in favor of the proposed name change. The petition is <br />included for reference. <br /> Pursuant to NCGS 153A-239.1, noticing is required for this type of request. Noticing includes <br />holding a public hearing.
