General Definition of Work: <br />Performs technical and difficult skilled administrative and professional work performing a variety of complex <br />administrative and planning/coordinating work with multiple agencies to coordinate the homeless and low income <br />housing network of Cabarrus County. Work is performed under the regular supervision of the Planning and <br />Development Director. Provides administrative support to Community Development program staff as well. <br /> <br />Assisting in the preparation of short term and long-range housing plans for homeless and low income families <br />and individuals; preparing graphic materials; assisting in research and grants management; maintaining <br />complex, detailed and confidential records, files and data bases maintaining records and files; and preparing <br />reports. <br /> <br />Assists in the development of studies, analyses and recommendations in connection with the current and long-range <br />physical, social and economic development of the County. <br /> <br />Undertakes special projects as assigned by supervisor. <br /> <br />Prepares reports and supporting graphic display materials descriptive of research and recommendations. <br />- Lead the implementation of the Cabarrus Homeless Task Force continuum plan, a multi-year plan to increase access <br />to housing in Cabarrus County <br />- Work closely with representatives from local government, Community Development Corporations, not for profit <br />agencies, private developers, and grassroots organizations to ensure that all voices are heard and incorporated into the <br />ongoing work of executing the framework of the homeless network. <br />Convene policy-oriented conversations and lead initiatives designed to affect change and enhance housing <br />opportunities in Cabarrus County. Ability to map the financial resources and human services available to enhance <br />eltered <br />Work with municipalities and other service agencies to identify specific neighborhoods in need of housing intervention <br />strategies and assist with potential resources <br />Establish priorities for policy and system changes and capital investment <br />Conduct technical presentations to a wide-array of stakeholders, ranging from non-profits and governing bodies to <br />community groups and private sector leadership <br />nd ensure <br />accountability <br /> <br />Produce reports related to housing on a quarterly and annual basis. <br /> <br />Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: <br />Thorough knowledge of standard office practices, procedures, equipment, computers, applicable software. General <br />knowledge of the principles and practices of community development and of ordinances governing community <br />development and related codes. Knowledge of homeless and low income housing services. Ability to analyze and <br />systematically compile technical and statistical information; to prepare technical reports; to perform and organize <br />work independently; to utilize judgment and discretion in problem-solving situations; to prepare and present technical <br />information clearly; and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with associates and representatives <br />of other public agencies, not for profits and other service agencies. The ability to speak in public settings and conduct <br />presentations will be a required skill for this position. <br /> <br />
