Blake Kiger <br /> <br />Absent - Commissioner: Diane Honeycutt <br /> Lynn Shue <br />Barbara Strang <br /> <br /> <br /> Also present were Mike Downs, County Manager; Jonathan Marshall, Deputy <br />County Manager; Rodney Harris, Deputy County Manager; Kasia Thompson, <br />Communication and Outreach Director; Richard Koch, County Attorney; David <br />Goldberg, Deputy County Attorney and Lauren Linker, Clerk to the Board. <br /> <br /> The following municipal representatives were also present: <br /> <br />Special Guests: Georgia Lozier, Cabarrus County Board of Education <br />members. <br /> <br />City of Kannapolis: Mike Legg, City Manager; and Council Member Jeanne <br />Dixon. <br /> <br />Town of Mount Pleasant: no representative present <br /> <br />Town of Midland: Doug Paris, Town Manager; Kassie Watts, Town Planner; <br />and Council Members Rich Wise and Mike Tallent. <br /> <br />Town of Harrisburg: Jennifer Teague, Mayor; Maurice Price, Mayor Pro-Tem; <br />and Council Members Altyn Cotell, Diamond Staton-Williams, Rodney Dellinger, <br />Ron Smith, Ian Patrick, and Lee Connor, Interim Town Manager. <br /> <br /> <br />City of Concord: Josh Smith, Assistant City Manager; Council Members Andy <br />Langford, John Sweat, Jennifer Parsley and Betty Stocks. <br /> <br /> <br /> Chairman Morris called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. <br /> <br />Welcome <br /> <br /> Chairman Morris welcomed municipal elected officials, city managers and <br />other guests. <br /> <br />Introductions /Updates <br /> <br /> Representatives from the cities and the towns provided an update on <br />current, and ongoing projects in their jurisdictions and recognized members of <br />their staff in attendance. <br /> <br /> Deputy County Managers Marshall and Harris provided updates on county <br />projects while Chairman Morris introduced the Commissioners and staff present. <br /> <br />Dinner <br /> <br /> The Board took a dinner break at 6:32 p.m. The meeting resumed at 7 p.m. <br /> <br />Presentation Jackson Training School Historical View and Future Plans <br /> <br /> Deputy County Manager, Jonathan Marshall gave a presentation on the <br />history, progress, and future of the Jackson Training School property. <br /> <br />Closing <br /> <br /> Chairman Morris provided closing comments and thanked everyone for their <br />participation. <br /> <br />Adjourn <br /> <br /> The meeting adjourned at 7:52 p.m. <br /> <br />
