Level of Service: Benchmarking <br />2023 NRPA Agency Performance Review: <br />Park Facilities, Programming, Responsibilities & Staffing <br />o 10.2 acres of parkland per 1,000 residents <br />(County level NRPA Median) <br />o Current population in Cabarrus County of 242,512 <br />o Total current developed park acreage of 521 acres <br />o Cabarrus County is currently providing 2.1 acres of <br />parkland per 1,000 residents (below the median for <br />population and County level of park acres per 1,000 <br />residents) <br />o Total of 1258 acres with the addition of future parks <br />on land the County owns, Cabarrus County would <br />be providing 5.2 park acres per resident (exceeds <br />the lower quartile of similar sized populations up to <br />250,000 residents and at the County level) <br />Approximately 1799 acres of parks exist in the County when adding other <br />service providers, excluding schools, to the total acreage the County owns <br />and operates. <br />7.4 park acres per 1,000 residents (shy of the median NRPA Park Metrics <br />averages for both population size and at the County level) <br />
