Head: Justin Brines Department: Finance for EMS <br />❑ Internal Transfer Within Department ❑ Transfer Between Departments/Funds ❑J Supplemental Request <br />EMS was awarded the Randomized Cluster Evaluation of Cardiac Arrest Systems (RACE -CARS) trial grant in FY 2021. Grant funds have been received for meeting <br />certain milestones during the RACE -CARS trial. Grant funds reimbursed and recognized as revenue to date covered administrative and payroll costs for engagement <br />of first responder, first dispatch, community organization, hospital and intervention and review of 911 dispatch cal Isfur Q&A purposes. This budget amendment is to <br />recognize the portion of funds received that may be used to facilitate county trial activities as revenue and the corresponding expenditures. As a result of the petition, <br />Division 10 staff requested the Resolution on file be updated. The Resolution <br />was last considered and adopted by the Board of Commissioners in 2001. NCDOT <br />Staff informed the County the Resolution must now be renewed every five years <br />to be valid. <br />UPON MOTION of Vice Chairman Shue, seconded by Commissioner Wortman* and <br />unanimously carried, the Board adopted the updated resolution. <br />Resolution No. 2024-28 <br />NORTH CAROLINA STATE DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION <br />REQUEST FOR ADDITION TO STATE MAINTAINED <br />SECONDARY ROAD SYSTEM <br />WHEREAS Cabarrus County Government does not build or maintain infrastructure; <br />and <br />WHEREAS the Board of County Commissioners is of the opinion that the County of <br />Cabarrus does not investigate petitioned roads for addition to the North <br />Carolina State Department of Transportation Secondary Road System; and <br />WHEREAS the Board of County Commissioners relies on the North Carolina State <br />Department of Transportation to investigate these petitioned roads and determine <br />if they meet the established standards and criteria for addition to the State <br />Maintenance System. <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the County Commissioners of the County of <br />Cabarrus that the Division of Highways is hereby requested to process all road <br />additions without approval of the Board of County Commissioners. <br />Page 19 <br />
