Chairman Colerider called the meeting to order. Prayer was given by <br />Mr. L. D. Coltrane, III. <br />2. Minutes of the AUGUST meeting were approved. <br />3. Chairmants report: <br />a. it was announced that Mr. W. E. Cook, Associate Supervisor,, is <br />in the hospital in Winston-Salem, N. C. <br />b. Awards were presented by the Cabarrus District to: <br />Mr. & Mrs. Lee Barrier as Conservation Farm Family of the Year-1974. <br />to Mr. Charlie Hicks of Radio Station WPEG for their co-operation and <br />service of air time for local district news. Mr. Hicks estimated <br />the air time at a value of $800.00 per year. <br />to Mr. Marvin Fury of The Daily Independent for their interest and <br />concern of local District news articles. The Daily Independent <br />newspaper has contributed a tremendous service in the interest <br />of Soil and Water Conservation. <br />The Concord Tribune also received a certificate of appreciation. <br />C. Chairman Colerider read a letter from Mr. Jesse Hicks commending <br />the Cabarrus District on the updated Long Range Work Plan. <br />d. Letters of invitation to attend one of the Districts' Educational <br />Conservation tours have been sent to Mr. W.A.McLeod, Mr. Jesse <br />Hicks, Mr. Grady Lane and Mr. Steve Bennett. <br />
