The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at their regular monthly meeting on July 2, 1962 <br /> <br />with the following mcmher$ present: <br /> Chairman: W. Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Commissioners: L.Bo~an Barrier, M.Smoot Lyles, P.Ernest Stallings and W.Gtry Is~hour <br /> <br /> Motion by P.Ernest Stallings seconded by M.Smoot Lyles that the Royal Oaks Sanitary <br /> <br />District rate be 65 cents per $100.O0. Voted on and carried. <br /> <br />C Harold Graham introduced the following resolution which was read: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE REQUESTED TAX RATE TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF CABARI~ <br /> <br />COUNTY, NORTH C~LI NA <br /> <br />Whereas, the Roy~ Oaks Sanitary District has met and, in compliance with North Carolina General <br />Statutes 130-141, has determined the amount of funds necessary to he raised hy tax assessment and <br />has determined the number of cents per one hundred dollars property valuation necessary to raise <br />said amount; <br />And whereas, the ~anitary District Board now desires to certify to the Board of County Commission,:rs <br />of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, the number of cents per one hundred dollars property <br />valuation to be levied as a tax for the Royal Oaks Sanitary District; <br /> <br />And whereas, the Royal Oaks Sanitary Distr~t[:B~rd has found that said tax rate for the year 1962 <br />should be 65 cents per one hundred dollars property valuation; <br />Now, therefore, he it hereby resolved: <br />Section 1. That the Royal Oaks Sanitary District Board, in compliance with the above mentioned <br />statute, doesherehy certify to the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North <br />CarOlina, that for the year 1962 it requests that said Board of County Commissioners introduce in <br />its annual levy the sum of 65 cents per one hundred dollars property valuation to b e levied again., <br />all taxable property within the District, said funds to he collected hythe County Tax Collector <br />and turned over to the Royal Oaks Sanitary District as provided in General Statutes 130-141. <br />Section 2. That the Secretary of the Sanitary District Board forward a ce~.tiffed copy of this <br />resolution to the Bm rd of County Commissioners of Caharrus County, North Carolina. <br />Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from the date of its passage. <br />Upon motion of Morris Dearmon,Seconded hy Beecher Swing, the foregoing resolution entitled: <br /> "RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE REQUESTED TAX RATE TO THE BOARD OF 03UI~'TY COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS <br />COUNTY, NORTH CIIROLINA", was passed by the following vote: <br />Ayes: Five <br />Noes: None <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY O1~ TAXES FOR 1PIE P~D SAMIT~Y DISTRICT <br /> <br />WHEREAS the followin'g resolution, passed by the Sanitary District Board of the Parkwoed Sanitary <br />District on the 1st day of May, 1962, has been received by the Board of Commtssinmers for the Count~ <br />of Cabarrus: <br />BE IT RESOLVED hy the Sanitary District Board of Parkwood Sanitary ~istrict: <br />Section One. That the Sanitary District Board has determined and does hereby find and declare: <br />(a) That the funds available from surplus operating revenues as provided hy G.S. 130-144 are not <br />sufficient for the payment of interest and the retirement of the District's bonds. <br />(h) That the assessed valuations of the property within the limits of the Parkwood Sanitary District <br />amount to approximately One Million Dollars. <br />(c) That a levy of Fifteen Cents per One Hundred Dollars valuation will produce approximately <br />Fifteen Hundred Dollars revenue. <br /> (d) That barring unforeseen and unanticipated expenses the additional sum ~f Fifteen Hundred Dollars <br />should he ample to meet all obligations of the Dls2~ict during the fiscal year 1962-1963. <br />Section Two. That the ~ecretary of the Parkwood Sanitary District Board certify tothe Board of County <br />Commissioners for Caharrus County, North Carolina, that the Parkwood Sanitary District Board has <br />determined that a levy of Fifteen Ce~ts per One Hundred Dollars valuation of property within the <br />District's limits is necessary to raise the amount needed tomeet the current obligations of said <br />District, and request that said amount be included in the mext annual levy to be determined by <br />the Board of County Commissioners and collected as other County taxes as provided by G.S. 130-144. <br /> <br />On Motion of Commissioner Id. Guy Isenhour, seconded by Commissioner P.Ernest Stallings, the foregoin.~ <br />resolution entitled""RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY ~F TA)iF.S FOR THE PARKWOOD SANITARY DISTR~CT" <br />was passed by the following vote: <br />.Ayes: W.Frank McCray, M. Smoot Lyles, P. Ernest Stallings, Id. Guy Isenhour, and L Bowman Barrier <br />iNoes: None. <br /> <br /> Motion by W.Guy Isenhour seconded by M.Smoot Lyles that the O. K. Lunch be given <br /> <br /> contract to feed the prisioners in Jail at 45 centsi:~per meal per person for the ph~tsical year <br /> 1962-1963. <br /> <br /> <br />
