93 <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Commissioners met on December 27, 1962 at 10:00 A M at a called <br /> <br />me,tin§ at the County Courthouse. The following Commissioners were present: <br /> Chairman: ~.ank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Oren Hill, M. Smoot Lyles, W.Frank McCray and McNeil Petrea <br /> <br /> The meeting was called to order to appoint an County Accountant: <br /> <br />Motion by Oren Hill , seconded by McNeil Petrea that Alfred Hurt be appointed County <br />Accountant and Cabarrus County Treasurer. voted on and carried. <br /> <br /> Motion by Oren Hill seconded by McNeil Petrea that the County purchase bonds to cover <br />the following employees: Tax Collector $50,000.00; County Accountant and Treasurer $50,000.00; <br />Each Deputy Tax Collector, $10,000.O0 ; - Voted on and ~arried. <br /> <br /> Motion by Orcn Hill,~conded by McNeil Petrea to appoint Mr. W. H.B~ckerdite as <br /> <br />County Attorney- Voted on and carried. Mr. Beckerdite's salary was to be $100.00 per montl. <br /> <br /> Motion by W. Frank McCray, seconded by Oren Hill to accept the resignation of Mr. <br /> <br />Robert~ C. Harris, as Tax Supervisor., effective as of January 1, 1963. Voted on and carried. <br /> <br /> Motion by McNeil Petrea and seconded by Oren Hill to have Daniels and Daniels, of <br />Charlotte, N.C. to audit the bogks in the County Tax office and the County Accountants <br /> <br />office. T~was to be completed by January 1, 1963. <br /> <br /> McNeil Petrea, Oren Hill ard Frank James voted "for" <br /> <br /> W. Frank McCray and M.Smoot Lyles voted "against" <br /> <br /> Motion by Oren Hill seconded by McNeil Petrea that employees hired by the County will <br />take their vacation the year it is earned. If it is not possible for them to do this, the <br />Head of the Department will appear Implore the Commissioners to get their permission to take <br />the vacation when it is possible. Republicans voted "for" Democrats voted "against" <br /> <br /> Motion by McNeil Petrea, seconded by Oren Hill, that the Courthouse be open on <br />New Years day. - Republicans voted "for" Democrats voted "against" <br /> <br />Motion by M Smoot Lyles, seconded by W.Frank McCray, that Warren Manus be paid for four weeks <br />vacation which he did not take for the last two years- Ail the' Commissioners voted "for" <br />this motion with the exception o f Or4~n Hill- Mr. Hill voted "against". <br /> <br /> Let~ex xeceived fxom ~he S~ate~Boaxd of Reduction in xeguaxd ~o the Reduction of <br /> <br />Taxes fox Randolph Mills fxom $5,964.60 ~p $4,473.85 which was less $1490.75.
