The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at a call meeting Thursday, July 11, 1963, at 9:00 am. <br /> <br />at the County Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairman, Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Smoot Lyles, Frank McCray <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County School Board met with commissioners. C. A. Furr spoke for board and <br /> <br />asked commissioners to raise their capitol outlay $14,125. Mr. Furr was told to get together <br />with Mr. Hurt and ~ee if figures could be shifted. If no decision reached, he could come before <br />the Board the week of July 22nd with all the other school boards. <br /> <br />~ McCray made.motion, seconded by Lyles to accept the Royal Oaks Sanitary Resolution as <br />listed below: Vote carried. <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION SETTING THE TAX RATE FOR <br /> THE ROYAL OAKS SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> <br /> BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners has received the following resolution from the <br />Board of Commissioners for the Royal Oaks Sanitary District: <br /> <br /> "RESOLUTION CERTIFYING THE REQUESTED TAX RATE TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> CO~SSIONERS OF CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br /> Whereas, the Royal Oaks Sanitary District has met and, in compliance with North Carolina <br />General Statutes 130-141, has determined the amount of funds necessary to be raised by tax <br />assessment and has determined the number of cents per one hmudred dollars property valuation <br />necessary to raise said amount; <br /> <br /> And whereas, the Sanitary District Board now desires to certify to the Board of County <br />Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, the number of cents per one hundred dollars <br />property valuation to be levied as a tax for the Royal Oaks Sanitary District; <br /> <br /> And whereas, the Royal Oaks Sanitary District Board has found that the said tax rate for the ~ .~ar <br />1963 should be 65 cents per one hundred dollars property valuation; <br /> <br /> Now, therefore be it hereby resolved: <br /> <br /> Section 1. That the Royal Oaks Sanitary District Board, in compliance with the sbove <br />mentioned statute, does hereby certify to the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County, <br />North Carolina, that for the year 1963 it requests that said Board of County Commissioners in- <br />troduce in its annual levy the sum of 65 cents per one hundred dollars property valuation to be <br />levied against all taxable property within the District, said funds to be collected by the County <br />Tax Collector and turned over to the Royal Oaks Sanitary District as provide~ in General Statues <br />130-141. <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Secretary of the Sanitary District Board forward a certified copy of <br />this resolution to the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North Carolina. <br /> <br /> Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from the date of its passage." <br /> <br /> Section 2. That the Sanitary District tax for the Royal Oaks Sanitary District for the <br />year 1963 in the amount of 65 cents per one hundred dollars property valuation be and the same <br />is hereby levied on property subject to the tax in the Royal Oaks Sanitary District. <br /> <br /> Ralph Litaker, Tax Supervisor, introduced Mr. Henry W. Lewis of the Institute of Government, <br />who discussed the procedure for Co,runty Revaluation and Tax Mapping. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, the meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> <br />
