The Cabarrus COunty Board of Commissioners met at a call meeting Friday, July 26, 1963 at <br /> <br />10:OO a.m. at the Cabarrus County Courthouse. <br /> Present: Chairman, Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Absent: Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairmaa James. Representatives from Cabarrus County and <br /> <br />Concord City Schools were present. Commissioners approved $7000 extra to go to county schools <br /> <br />and $5000 to City Schools. <br /> <br /> Hill made motion, seconded by Petraa to adopt $1.10 as the 1963-64 tax rate. Vote Carried. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Agner met with commissioners to discuss her status as temporary clerk of Domestic <br />Relations Court. S.he wanted to know if she was to remain temporary or if she was to have the <br />Job. Com~issioners advised her they would let her know the first meeting in August, 1963. <br /> <br /> Luther Barnhardt came before board to discuss lien on the Emerson property located in <br /> <br />Township ~3. The County Attorney, Mr. Beckerdite, recommended the county to release the lien <br />on this property and Board of Commissioners find as a fact that it will be in the best interest <br />of the coUnty to accept $50 for this release. Hill made motion, seconded by Petrea to release <br />the lien on the 39.26 acre tract owned by A. C. Grant, who purchased from Emerson Heirs, in <br />Township ~3 for the sum of $50. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by petrea to authorize Ralph Litaker to accept 50% on bale <br />cotton inventory. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Hill to adopt the following budget for 1963-64. Vote <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />
