The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at their regular meeting Monday, January 6, 1964, at <br /> <br /> 10:OO a.m. in the County Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Present~ Chairman, C. Frank James ~._% <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Minutes were read by Cloie Hancock and stand <br /> approved, <br /> <br /> Chairman James presented the county audit and requested audit not be discussed until Mr. <br /> ~'~ood could be present. Hill made motion, seconded by Petrea to postpone discussion. Vote <br /> carried. <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve the following road petitions: <br /> <br /> Road #1132----Old Camden Road ........ Request for Surface Treatment <br /> Road #1OO ----Franklin Ave.- ............ Request for Surface Treatment <br /> Green Acres ............... -Request for Addition <br /> <br /> Road leading to Matthen Stallings H~ueplace--Request for Addition <br /> <br /> . ,, Mr. J. Lee Pharr came before the Board concerning border lines for county garbage routes. <br /> Mr. Pharr wants to buy the Midland route from Mr. 14hitley and requested exclusive rights to <br /> this area. He was instructed to talh to Dr. 14orkman about an tlnion County man coming into this <br /> territory. Mr. Pharr requested a franchise for this new territory. McCray made motion, <br /> seconded by Petrea to grant this franchise, providing he stays within certain competitive <br /> prices. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> · James Johnson, Judge of Domestic Relations Court came before the Board requesting an <br /> <br /> increase in pay for Robert L. Gribble, Probation Offtcter. McCray made motion, seconded by <br /> Lyles to take approximately $101 out of General Fund and grant this increase. <br /> Voted For: James, Petrea, McCray, [8,1es <br /> <br /> ¥~¢d ;,gal~,~tr=-,~ Abstained from voting: Hill (Corrected Feb. 3, 196h as requested by commissioners) <br /> <br /> 14. M. Morrison requested help on his property which is located on the Cabarrus-Mecklenburg <br /> <br /> ,County line. Mecklenburg has taxed him this year and he is usually taxed by Cabarrus. This <br /> <br /> matter was turned over to Attorney Becke~dite for further handling. <br /> <br /> The following 9ood and lawful citizens were drawn for jury duty for one week in February. <br /> <br /> Archie L.
