The Cabarrus County Cc~missioners met at their regular meeting Non~ay, Nay h, 196h at 10~00 <br /> <br />a.m. at the Courthouse. <br /> <br />Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Oran Hill, McNeil Petrea, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Neetin9 called to order by Chairman James. Oran Iti11. led in prayer. Minutes read by <br />Clole Hancock end stand aPprOVed. A report from the Grand Sury was read and it was agreed to <br />have the necessary repairs made that concerns county property. <br /> <br /> Mr. L. D. Coltrane read a letter fr~m the Board of Supervisors for Cabarrus Sol 1 and Water <br />Conservation District of N. C. and requested $500. for their 196h budget. Petrea requested <br />Mr. Beckerdite check into the funds nov present in the old drainage fund and see if this could <br />be used for the present needs. The ccennissioners advised the Supervisors Board that this budget <br />would have to be sul~aitted with other budgets for approval. <br /> <br /> Hill made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve the following road petitions~ Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Little Buffalo Creek Rd. Request for Addition <br /> <br /> Mr. Beckerdite presented application for approval for proposed bonds to be filed with <br />local government commission. This was signed by the commissioners. ~ <br /> <br /> Mr. Cline, Chairman Board of County Schools came before board concerning their school budget, <br />also vocational program offered by State. They requested $20,865 for this program. This figure <br />is included in their budget. Commissioners advised the School Board they could give no answer <br />until the budget is discussed. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lloyd Efird of Rt. #1, Midland came before board requesting his property be reduced. <br /> <br />It was assessed at $6800. and the Board of Equalization and Revie~ did not reduce. Mr. Kfird ' <br />was instructed he would have to appeal before the State Board of Assessments. <br /> <br /> John Sharpe Hsrtsell presented prices for ballot boxes @ $11.1i6 each and voting booths <br />@ $33.51 each, plus tax and freight.
