The cabarrus County C6m~iss£pners met at a call meeting Friday, January 15, 1965, at 2:00 p.m. <br /> <br />in the Co <br /> <br />Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Frank McCray <br /> <br />Absent: C~ssioner, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. This meeting was for purpose of interviewing <br /> <br />applicants for Civil Defense Director. Those interviewed were: Philip Francis St. John; <br />J. B. Kimbrell; Harry Lee Litaker; Donald Eugene Arthur; Vernon L. Johnson, Jr.; Hubert <br />Bumgardner; Harry Crowell; Eugene Cline. No action taken on the above at this time. <br /> <br /> Rev. E. J. Harbison presented bill for $61.OO for lambs killed by dogs. Attorney <br />Beckerdite stated Cabarrus County was exempt from paying this bill under chapter 225, of the <br />Acts of 1939. <br /> <br /> training <br /> Ralph Litaker spoke to Board about hiring 'and~ a new person to maintain the county <br /> <br />maps. Hill made motion, seconded by Petrea to hire Larry Conner as map maintanence personnel, <br />and his starting salary to be $325.00 per month plus 75 per mile for travel on county business <br />when authorized by the Tax Supervisor. Vote carried. It was agreed this job is to be under <br />the supervision of the Tax supervisor~ and it was further agreed to send Larry Conner to <br />Pittsburg, Pa. for a two week training course. <br /> <br /> Having no further business, meeting adjourned. <br /> <br /> -- Clerk to Board <br /> <br /> <br />
