365 <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at their regular meeting Monday, <br />April 5,' 1965, at 10:00 a.m. in the Courthouse. <br />Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Prayer by Rev. Frank Edwards. <br />Minutes of March meeting read and stand approved. <br /> <br /> Mr. Snyder came before the Board concerning the Snyder Building. It was <br />agreed that commissioners would look into this matter of repairs needed and their <br />decision on this building. <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by Hill not to take any action on "An Act To <br />Amend Chapter 1334 of the Session Laws of 1955, Relating To The Regulation Of <br />The Subdivision Of Land In And Around Municipalities, So As To Make The Same <br />Applicable To Cabarrus County" and to stay mutual on this matter. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> The following resoluaion was offered by Mr. Hill~ seconded by Mr. Lyles , <br /> and was unanimously adopted: <br /> <br /> "Whereas, Members of the Board of Concord Public Library appeared before <br /> the Board of County Commissioners and outlined a plan to endeavor to secure the <br /> the Post Office Building for the use of the Library, and <br /> ~Whereas in the opinion of this Board it will be a great benefit to the <br /> City of Goncord and to the Gounty if the Post Office building can be secured to <br /> house the Public Library: <br /> Now, therefore, be it resolved that the Board of Gounty Commissioners does <br /> hereby approve and endorse the effort and endeavor to secure the Post Office <br /> building for the Library. <br /> <br /> Mr. Litaker, Tax Supervisor, discussed the different appraisal companies <br /> that had submitted bids for revaluation of county. Hill made motion, seconded <br /> by Petrea to accept the low bid and grant Associated Surveys Go. the contract <br /> for $140,000. <br /> <br /> Voted For: James, Petrea, Hill <br /> Toted Against: McCray <br /> Abstained from voting: Lyles <br /> <br /> Mrs. Rhodes, manager of National Hosiery Mill presented their inventory for <br /> tax purposes for the years 1963, 1964, and 1965. This was turned over to the <br /> Tax Supervisor. <br /> <br /> Hill made motion, seconded by Petrea to adjourn as Board of Equalization <br /> and Review for another year.
