The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at their regular meeting Monday, <br /> May ~, 1965, at 10:00 a.m. at the Courthouse. <br /> Present: ~hairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, McNeil Petrea, Frank McCray, Smoot Lyles <br /> <br /> Absent: Commissioner, Oren Hill <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Prayer by Rev. Nelson. Minutes <br /> of last meeting stand approved. <br /> <br /> G. F. Ballard, 307 Rogers Lake Rd., Kannapolis, N. C. came before the Board <br /> concerning commercial chicken houses within 100 ft of his house. Commissioners <br /> agreed to have the Health Dept. check into this mmtter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lee Barnhardt came before Board concerning a raad that the state ran <br /> through his property. This happened fort~ years ago and there is nothing to <br /> be done now. <br /> <br /> Gice Allen submitted Privilege License tax schedule for June 1, 1965 thru <br /> <br />! May 31, 1966. McCray made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve same. Vote <br /> <br />· 369 372 <br />i carried. See pages thru . <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve the following road <br /> petitions. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Shady Lane-- Request for Addition <br /> St. Paul Church Rd.--Request for Surface Treatment <br /> <br /> McCray made motion, seconded by Petrea to approve the purchase of one (1) <br /> Dictaphone and one (1) metal four-drawer filing cabinet for the Welfare Dept. <br /> Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Lyles to pass an amendment to the 1964-65 <br /> budget resolution to enable the accountants office to pay interest on School <br /> Bonds in the amount of $9,097.80 out of the unappropriated school fund surplus <br /> on hand at June l, 1965. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> The Board Of County Commissioners went on record that they are opposed to <br /> proposed legislation exempting all merchandise in public warehouse as of Jan. 1st <br /> from taxes. <br /> <br /> <br />
