The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at their regular meeting Tuesday, <br /> <br />July 6, 1965 at the Courthouse. <br /> <br />Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissionmrs, Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Smoot Lyles, Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Prayer by Rev. Day. <br /> <br /> Mr. Allman came before the Board concerning road #2616 which he has been <br /> <br />trying to have paved since 1949. Commissioners advised thay would help him~ <br /> <br />in every possible way. <br /> <br /> Larry Lwarence, County Forester, submitted his annual forestry report. <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by McCray to approve the following road <br /> <br />petitions: <br /> ~Street-- T-4 Request for Addition <br /> Georgia St. -T-4 Request for Surface Treatment <br /> Rochelle St.- ..... T-4 Request for Surface Treatment <br /> Rose Ave. -T-4 Request for Addition <br /> <br /> Petrea made motion, seconded by Hill to approve the 11¢ tax rate for <br /> <br />the Kannapolis Sanitary District as requested in the following resolution: <br />Vote carried. <br /> RESOLUTION SETTING THE TAX RATE FOR <br /> THE KANNAPOLIS SANITARY DISTRICT <br /> the Board of Commissioners for the County of Cabarrus: <br /> BE <br /> IT <br /> RESOLVED <br /> by <br /> Section 1. That the Board of Commissioners has received the following <br />resolution from the Board of Commissioners for the Kanmapolis Sanitary District: <br /> "RESOLUTI~NCERTIFY~NG THE REQUESTED TAX RATE TO THE BOARD OF COUNTY <br /> COMMISSIONERS OF CABARRUS COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA <br /> WHEREAS, the Kannapolis Sanitary District Board has met and, in complianca <br />with North Carolina General Statutes 130-141, has determined the amount of funds <br />necessary to be raised by tax assessment and has determined the number of cents <br />per one hundred dollars property valuation necessary to raise said amount; and, <br /> WHEREAS, THE Sanitary District Board now desires to certify to the Board <br />of County Commissioners of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, the number of cents <br />per one hundred dollars property valuation to be levied as a tax for the <br />Kannapolis Sanitary District, and, <br />WHEREAS, the Kannapolis Sanitary District Board has found that the said tam <br />rate for the year 1965 should be eleven cents (11¢) per one hundred dollars <br />property valuation: <br /> Now, therefore, BE IT HEREBY RESOLVED: <br /> Section 1. That the Kannapolis Sanitary District Board, in compliance withl <br />the above mentioned statute, does hereby certify to the Board of County Comm- <br />issioners of Cabarrus County, North Carolina, that for the year 1965 it requests <br />that said Board of County Commissioners introduce in its annual levy the sum <br />of eleven cents (11¢) per one hundred dollars property valuation to be levied <br />against all taxable property within the District, said funds to be collected <br />by the County Tax Collector and turned over to the Kannapolis Sanitary District <br />as provided in General Statutes 130-1~.~ <br /> Section 2. That the Secretary of the Sanitary District Board forward a' <br />certified copy of this resolution to the Board of County Commissioners of Cabarrus <br /> County, North Carolina. <br /> Section 3. That this resolution shall take effect from the date of its <br />passage." <br /> Section 2. That the Sanitary District tax for the Kannapolis Sanitary <br />District for the year 1965 in the amount of eleven cents (11¢) per one hundred <br />dollars property valuation be and the same is hereby levied on property subject <br />to the tax in the Kannapolis Sanitary District. <br /> Section 3. That said levy be collected by the County Tax Collector and <br /> the funds received therefrom be turned over to the Kannapolis Sanitary District <br /> as is provided in the North Carolina General Statutes, Section 130-141. <br /> <br /> (continued) <br /> <br /> <br />
