426 <br /> <br /> The Cabarrus County Commissioners met at their regular meeting Monday, <br /> <br /> January 3, 1966, at 10:00 a.m. in the Courthouse. <br /> <br /> Present: Chairman, C. Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners, Oren Hill, McNeil Petrea, Smoot Lyles, Frank McCray <br /> <br /> Meeting called to order by Chairman James. Prayer by Oren Hill. Minutes <br /> <br /> of December meetings read and stand approved. <br /> <br /> Hill made m~tion, seconded by McCray to approve the following road petition: <br /> Vot~ carried. <br /> T-2 Peigler Ave. SR# 1422, Request for Surface Treatment <br /> <br /> A1 Hurt reported he had received a letter from Judge Armstrong stating that <br /> a new Clerk Stenographer, Richard S. Peterson, had been appointed and he is to <br /> reside in Concord. Mr. Hurt requested permission to purchase a desk and chair <br /> for the Clerk Stenographer's office, which is to be on the third floor of the <br /> Courthouse. Commissioners agreed to this purchase. <br /> <br /> John Oehler requested Cabarrus County to pay a portion of their two-way <br /> <br /> radios for two (2) fire trucks for the Kannapolis Sanitary District. McCray made <br /> motion, seconded by Lyles to grant them the same amount of money for radios that <br /> the other Volunteer Fire Depts are allowed. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> G. B. Brandon, Court Off icier, requested a raise in pay. He now receives <br /> <br /> $10.00 per court day. No action taken at present. <br /> <br /> Mr'. Zeb Morris, Superior Court Solicitor, requested an Assistant Court <br /> Solicitor for Cabarrus County. Hill made motion, seconded by Lyles to grant <br /> this request effective thru June, 1966, and for the salary to be $300. per court <br /> week. Vote carried. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brisker Ury again appeared before Board concerning the lien on his <br /> property. This was found to be a tax lien and cannot be removed until taxes are <br /> paid. <br /> <br /> (continued on next page) <br /> <br /> <br />
