Frank James <br /> <br /> Commissioners: Dr. R. B. Ranktn, Jr., C. McNeil Petrea, Robert A. <br /> <br /> McClary, and C. Glenn Hawfield, Jr. <br /> <br /> County School Superintendent Jay M. Robinson <br /> <br /> Assistant School Superintentient Joe Fries <br /> <br /> School Board Members: Chairman Stuart J. Black, L. C. Harmon, <br /> <br /> Hubert Powell, John Fink, and Dr. Seth Bostic. <br /> <br />Chairman James called the meeting to order. <br /> <br /> Mr. Black read a statement to the Board concerning the County School <br />Board's policy of operating the school system and clarification of their <br />posttion.'~on several issues raised In a news paper article. A statement by <br /> <br />Dr. R. B. Rankin, Jr., referrin9 to these matters was read and accepted by the <br />School Board members. <br /> <br /> A discussion of the group of the proposed study of the School Systems by <br />the George Peabody College was held and Hawfield made motion, seconded by <br />McClary, to accept the proposed contract with the Division of Surveys and Field <br /> <br />Services of the Deorge Peabody College for Teachers, Nasvtlle, Tennessee. <br />Vote was unanimous. Contract appears on page ...~l ~, and becomes a part of <br />these minutes. <br /> <br /> With no further business, meeting was adJournSd~ _, <br /> <br /> <br />
