The.regular mon.thly meeting of the Cabarrus County Commissioners was held at 9:30 A.H <br /> <br />on September 8, 1969, at the Cou.rthouse,~with the following members present: <br /> <br /> Chairman: C. Frank James ~ <br /> · C~mmissioners: Or. R. B..Rankin, Jr., RQbert A. McClary, Glenn S. Hawfield, <br /> <br /> Jr., and C..McNeil Petrea. <br /> <br />Chairman James called the meeting to order. Johnson, Jr., discussed wit~.the Boar. d .the follawinG <br /> <br />matters: An amended resolution authorizing sale at auction of a surplus truck, electric <br />stove, and..a.~cop_yinG_machine~ ..a dr~ft of a~praposed ordina_naerequiringpermitsfar <br />parades and.processions held.in Cabarxus. Oounty <br /> <br />McClary, that we advertise ordinance requiring permits for certain p~rades and processions <br />held in Cabarrus County and public heari~ to be held O(~t~beN 6, 196g, at 10=00 A.M. <br />Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> A rep~o~.~..~as~..given on recommendations for handlin~ the matter of the estate of <br /> <br />Mary Jane. Caldwell, involving the property in the vehicle driving center behind the <br />County Board of Education office building. The Board instructed Attorney Johnson to <br />proceed with these matters. In the land matter, Hayfield made motion~ seconded by Petrea, <br />to buy ~e property back as recommended by the attorney. Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> A hospital bill in the amount of $2,570.85 for Brite Tillman Story, a prisoner in <br />C~uat¥ Jail, was discussed. Attorney Johnson advised the Board that the County is liable <br />only for injury or illness contracted by Oonfined in the County Jail. Sheriff Roberts <br />stated that this was a pre.existing condition. The Board instructed that this hospital <br />bill and subsequent doctnr bill connected with this matter be returned as a personal <br />liability of the said Brice Tillman <.~tory. .~ <br /> <br /> Mrs. Rona!d Brwin, representing the Cahazrus Chapter ~af the National Cystic Fibrosis <br />ge~ea~ahFaunda~ion, a~ked the Comm{ssioxle. rs to ~~e ~pZember as =~s~ic Fibrosis <br />Month. Pe. Zrea made motion, seconded by MaClarw, to adopt September as National Cystic <br />Fibrosis.Month. Vote was unanimous. <br /> <br /> Mr. C. E. Isenhour and /4r. Hubert ~. Barbae complained to the Board about the <br />valuation of their property. They were advised to present this matter to the next meeting <br />of the Board of ~qualizat/on and Review. <br /> <br /> <br />
